Free Linear Cut Calculator: fewer offcuts, less wasted tube
Cutting roll-cage tube, chromoly, bar stock, angle or extrusion? Enter the lengths you need and the stock length you buy, and the calculator works out an efficient cutting layout for you. It's free and you don't need an account.
What it saves you
- Material: cuts are packed onto each stock length to use as much of the bar as possible, so less ends up in the scrap bin.
- Planning time: no more working out cut lists on paper or by trial and error. You get a bar-by-bar cut plan in seconds.
- Money: you know exactly how many lengths to order before you buy, so you don't pay for material you won't use.
How it works
- Enter your stock length, blade kerf and any end trim, and pick your units (mm, cm, inches or metres).
- Add each piece length, the quantity and a label.
- Hit Calculate cut plan to see the number of bars needed, material yield, total waste and a visual layout of every bar. Print it or save it as a PDF for the saw.
Frequently asked questions
How do I work out how many lengths of tube I need for a roll cage?
Enter each tube length from your cut list, with quantities, and your stock length (for example 6000 mm). The calculator tells you how many stock lengths you need and exactly which pieces to cut from each one.
Does the calculator allow for blade kerf?
Yes. Enter your saw's kerf and it's added between cuts. You can also set an end trim for each bar to square up or remove damaged ends.
What materials does it work for?
Anything sold in straight lengths: round and square tube, RHS, flat bar, angle, aluminium extrusion, threaded rod, timber and more.
Is it free?
Yes. It's free to use and you don't need to sign up.
